Physical Appearance[]
Unlike the majority of ghosts, Peeves had a physical form, but he was able to become invisible at will. Peeves looked like a small man dressed in loud, outlandish clothes including a bell-covered hat and an orange bow tie. He was solid-looking as opposed to pearly white and transparent. Peeves was capable of flight and intangibility, but could also affect solid objects and make himself invisible. He could be affected by magic.
Personality[]
Peeves thrives on confusion and disruption. He revels in the chaos he creates and delights in the mayhem that ensues. He has an irreverent sense of humor and love of pranks. He firmly believes that rules are meant to be broken. He is not malevolent, but seeks fun and entertainment, often at the expense of others. He takes great pleasure in taunting authority figures, especially the teachers at Hogwarts.

- Peeves is afraid of the Bloody Baron.
- His favorite place to swim is the boys' ground floor toilets.
- In 1876, Rancorous Carpe, the caretaker at the time, tried to make Peeves leave Hogwarts. He obviously failed.
